Tell us about yourself
Born of English parents, I grew up in Australia but am now currently living in England. I’ve been writing for fifteen years and first became published in 2005 under the name Anne Whitfield. I write historical, modern romance and short stories.
In 2011 I changed my pen name to Anne Brear for my historical novels published by Knox Robinson.
Now I'm re-releasing my old back list under the pen name Annemarie Brear.
What have you learned about the publishing industry since you’ve signed that first contract?
I’ve learned that this industry is ever changing, ever evolving and authors, agents and publishers have to change with it. When my first book was released in 2005, the ebook industry was finding its feet. There were many problems and not enough people took it seriously, me included, but it was never going to go away. And now it is a world wide phenomena. It just shows that we can never sit still and cling to the old ways but to change and adapt as needed, or get left behind.
I personally read mainly ebooks now, something I never thought I'd do. I love the ease of instantly purchasing and reading abook within minutes.
