Mouse Moonwalk is a charming morality tale about the dangers of success. Ah, don’t we all want a bit of that danger? Rolo, a theatre mouse, learns how to moonwalk like Michael Jackson and becomes an Internet sensation, but he soon discovers that fame and fortune comes at a price. Although written for children, there’s a topical and poignant message here for people of all ages about this connected world we inhabit where everyone can be a dancer, writer, entertainer or artist. The story is solid and has likeable characters. What children’s story would be complete without a few cute animals? I’m not sure of an age recommendation, 5 to 8 perhaps, but it’s certainly ideal as a read aloud book for young children.
