E. J. Morelli grew up in Phoenicia, one of the hamlets in the Town of Shandaken, NY. He joined the U. S. Army in 1987; and after leaving the Army, pursued a career in law enforcement. He currently serves as an officer in a rural South Carolina department. He works as a canine handler, and an Emergency Medical Technician. He additionally serves as a SWAT Team Medic.
