Biography
Laura Gillen’s first novel, “Playing In Real Time” has produced excellent reviews and a growing readership of all ages. Readers express being engrossed by this heart-warming, “rush-to-the-finish novel”, and the way characters become like friends they genuinely care about.
Laura was born and grew up in Sheffield, northern England. Once home to the steel industry, it is beautifully set next to the rugged hills of the Peak District – a favorite of the celebrated Jane Austen, and the less well known Laura! In the USA, Laura moved into the nonprofit world of fund development, and worked at Harvard University for a Nobel laureate. This location also provided the opportunity for many excellent writing workshops, where she worked hard to develop her writing style.
Along with writing, Laura’s favorite things are dancing (which she does more like ginger snaps than Ginger Rogers but it keeps her smiling), roaming the Rocky Mountain foothills close to her Colorado home, and traveling.
