Biography

As an author, Jon’s mission is to provide readers with stories that delight and entertain so they can enjoy a pleasurable respite from their busy day to day lives. Readers describe turning the last page of McDonald’s books not only feeling completely satisfied, but also wanting more.

His adventure stories are exciting - fast paced and captivating. They are filled with intriguing plots, imaginative locales and storylines that make you think about real issues in an engaging way. His adventure readers are selective - typically enjoying the works of other notable peers in the field including David Baldacci, John Grisham, Tom Clancy, and James Patterson.

His humorous tales delight and amuse - evoking the satire of David Sedaris, the laugh-out-loud humor of Ethan Mordden or the sly English observations of E.F. Benson.

Jon’s readers are just as likely to be found listening to classical music, NPR, traveling abroad, shopping at local farmer’s markets, preparing gourmet food or walking the halls of the Hermitage, the Met, or the Louvre as they are reading his humorous, intelligent stories written for an audience who shy away from run of the mill writing.

Smashwords Interview

When did you first start writing?
I actually have a double career in writing. I began many years ago as a playwright. I had a production of one of my plays done at the Mark Taper Forum's, New Theatre for Now series in Los Angeles. I've had several other productions over time, but I became more interested in film and wrote a number of screenplays, but none were produced.

I moved to Santa Fe and ceased writing for a number of years then after I lost a job in the great financial debacle of 2008 I found myself with a lot of free time. A friend introduced me to the writings of the English writer E.F. Benson. I loved his humorous writing about a number of ladies in a small English town and realized that would would be a wonderful model for a satirical look at the opera class in Santa Fe, New Mexico. That was how my first novel came about - Divas Never Flinch. And I haven't stopped since. I've written 5 more books and am now working on my 7th.
What's the story behind your latest book?
My latest book is Divas in Cahoots - A Comedy of Murder. It looks at the characters from my first book Divas Never Flinch and uses that setting to tell a humorous murder mystery.

Heiress Bella Harrington-Crenshaw Found Murdered – that was the shocking headline that rocked the quiet and complacent Santa Fe social scene. And one of their own just might have been the murderer. What rancor could have caused one of these sweet, mild tempered ladies to commit such an atrocious act? Or were there other unknown forces at work? International spies, senatorial murder, blackmail, art theft, hidden identities, and a masquerading drag queen, all humorously complicate a simple resolution to this tangled mystery. First introduced in Divas Never Flinch, this cast of irascible characters returns with new delights and magnificent battles.
