Biography
My name is Nick Hedges. Author of five books, I embrace challenge and seek to write stories unlike any I've read before. My influences range wildly, from perennial favorites like Dickens and Kerouac through to more eclectic universes via Murakami and Chabon.
I write what I 'must' because I don't write with a plan, and what greets me during the alchemy of novel writing is myself, reflected via every shadow and light of the world. I realize how fortunate I am to be proficient with words, and am aware of a certain responsibility I have to share my take on them.
When not writing, I'm either teaching or learning languages. I'm also a fan of mountains, animals, and the human condition. Life is the ultimate trip, and I do my best to live and record it right.
