When did you first start writing?
Well just about two or three years ago, during a casual discussion with my elder brother i was referring to the post-dinner talks we all had with my father about his life story. How he was hiding from the police during his freedom movement, what was the risks involved. in fact both of us felt that though we were lucky to get the experiences of the earlier generation through the talks, it would have been much better had they (both the parents were freedom fighter against British rules) put it down on papers. Now even if I say that papa had done this, I could not prove it. So I decided to jot down my memories in a scrapbook, and then tried to expand it gradually. To express a thought it is always better to take the help of one's mother tongue and I also did the same. but Bengali, my mother tongue has complex characters, so it as very difficult to write it down and make an e-book.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Surfing on the internet, i came across something as e-book. Detail information were asked, answers collected, and it was found any one can write a book provided he has a plot to write about , time, patience to write, correct, erase, rewrite, which is a time consuming process, After my retirement I had to pass out time and my daughter was there to encourage me. During my young age I used to write some poems, rather short one with rhythm and rhymes in Bengali. I started to blog it with Google. With social networking sites doing my propaganda through the relatives I got some hits, which motivated me like anything, Any support always motivate so there was no dearth of motivation.
