There are not very many books that I had a hard time tearing myself away from. This is one of them. I could not stop reading the story of Amy and was thinking about her even when not reading the book.
It takes a very good author to draw the reader in. This is what "Sentence of Marriage" did to me. I got completely lost in the book and felt like I was getting to know real people. Sad parts made me cry as if I were crying for a real friend. The ending punched me in the gut, but it was realistic for the time period, and a perfect lead in to the sequel "Mud and Gold" (I bought all the remaining books)!
Thank you Ms. Parkinson for sharing the first book with your readers. I am looking forward to reading the next one.
