Biography
I am a retired Canadian businessman, engineer turned freelance translator and writer. I am a passionate linguist. English is my favourite language, but I am also fluent in German and speak passable French. I like to play on words, and spend a lot of time searching for the right one. English word nuances are myriad. As a writer of erotic romance, I find the word 'titillate' to be one of the most interesting. Fabulous word – has nothing to do with breasts. But the first syllable is the colloquial expression for one, and they certainly are one of the most prestigious triggers of titillation. Vive la difference!
My goals as a writer are to relate a reasonably interesting story that features more than just off-the-wall sex on every page – and to find the right words, dear reader. As Mark Twain, not too shabby a writer, famously said: “The difference between the almost right word and the right word is really a large matter. ’tis the difference between the lightning bug and the lightning.”
I do most of my writing during the Northern hemisphere's winter months. Which I escape by vacating to the Caribbean. My wife is my main muse. We are empty nesters and like to travel and savour foreign foods and wines. Some would call us foodies, and you will find some of our recipes in my works. Other characters in my books are loosely based on friends and acquaintances, and the people I observe around me.
My Baby Taylor guitar is my other travel companion, and I pick it up to take a break from writing, or vice versa. I aspire to add a little enjoyment to your life, maybe while you are vacationing in the Caribbean or some other paradise, and hopefully the stories also titillate you. They do me.
