The Nocturnal Academies are schools for supernatural creatures, such as vampires, weres, shifters, tree spirits and elementals, Here they are trained to fight invaders from the Immaterium, a dark, insubstantial realm of imps and demons.
Alice Dibble is accepted into the Nocturnal Academy, a school for supernaturals. She is both overjoyed and horrified to discover that she is a vampire. To make things more interesting her enemy, Toby Thompson, has also been selected, and he is a werewolf. Before Alice can start at the school she must come to terms with her new identity, defeat Toby’s old bully friends and expose a local coven.

The mysterious Church of the Stigmata have set up in Appleton and are actively recruiting new followers. They appear to want to close the Nocturnal Academy down, but are really after something else, an extremely powerful tome of Magick hidden within the school.
In the sequel to Nocturnal Academy 6, two groups are in a desperate race against time to stop the evil demon lord Oradhur from reaching the Nocturnal Academy’s echo on the Astral Plane and stealing the Da Vinci Codex.
While Alice and her father are visiting the newly reopened Appleton Museum, Alice notices a dedication plaque on the wall from something called the Lonely House Foundation. Finally, the Australian Nocturnal Academy has won the rights to host the 312th Nightmare Games – a gruelling series of contests designed to pit supernaturals against each other and test their abilities to the ultimate limit.
