Melanie is ready to start her own life. This means moving out of her parents' house, and renting her own place. After moving in, she gets a chance to meet her new neighbour, the object of her recent fantasies. Shortly after moving in to her new apartment, Melanie meets Mike and they end up spending the night together. When something happens to Melanie's best friend Sally, it fills Melanie with guilt for spending the night in bed with Mike. But the accident will come as a blessing in disguise. It will show her that Mike is there for her when she needs someone the most.

Sally's accident leaves her bound to the couch, and with Melanie not having found herself a job yet, she offers to look after her best friend during the day while her parents are out working. But it starts taking its toll on Melanie, and slowly she starts feeling down about not making any money. Then Mike comes to the rescue, and offers Melanie something that could potentially change everything.

Melanie has not only found out that working in an office is not as boring as she thought, but also that Mike is a millionaire. Mike ends up meeting Melanie’s parents, and he finally takes her on that drive that he’d promised her months ago. Although what she was fantasising about on the backseat doesn’t happen, Mike turns it into a drive she will never forget.
