When the Outbreak came to England, things went very badly, very quickly. The virus mutated the infected into violent, twisted cannibals, devoid of all humanity. Those who remained free of the infection became prey, forced to live in hiding from their ravenous, all-but-dead neighbors.
Blaine, a university student, and Andrew, a Royal Marine, would never have met if not for the infected destroying the people they loved and driving them from their homes. After a near-fatal encounter on the motorway, the young men search for family and safety together.
Andrew and Blaine find refuge from the infected with other survivors, but must create refuge from loss and loneliness with each other. Surrounded by death, the two men give themselves a reason to go on living in the love they share.
