Reg Rawlins doesn't believe in psychic phenomenon. Or at least, she didn't used to. Since starting a con as a fortune teller in Black Sands, strange things have been happening.
Reg is about to discover a whole new world.
The fortune teller gig started as a scam, but she suddenly finds herself tangled up in the case of Warren Blake, a man who she thought was dead. It turns out he may still be alive, but in mortal peril.
Reg Rawlins is back in business, asked by Detective Jessup to consult on a missing persons case.
Little does she know that it’s not your average teen runaway or kidnapping. There is something strange going on.
Reg has been able to set up a respectable, if somewhat unconventional business providing psychic services in Black Sands, and is starting to feel like she could actually settle down there long-term.
But her relationship with Sarah, who has been her loyal friend and protector since she arrived becomes strained when Sarah’s precious emerald necklace disappears.
Something is disrupting the spiritual atmosphere in Black Sands, but no one else seems to be aware of its menacing presence. So Reg does her best to push it to the back of her conscious mind and to focus on new friendships and opportunities. She has been in Florida for long enough that it’s time to have some fun.
The warlocks in Reg's life are making things increasingly complicated, they have nine kittens to find homes for, and gardening turns out not to be such a relaxing diversion after all. Will Reg’s discovery of a mysterious key lead her to incalculable wealth or untold danger?
It’s Reg’s first Yule, and she should be learning all about the festivities in Black Sands. But her interest in the holiday falls by the wayside when Starlight falls ill. What kind of a monster poisons a psychic’s cat?
Reg definitely doesn’t need to be dealing with a magically-injured fairy, an expedition to the Blue Ridge Mountains, or getting the cooperation of yet another magical species.
Psychic Reg Rawlins is hoping to get her life back to normal, or some semblance of it.
But the rest of the world seems to have other ideas. Reg senses that all is not well in Black Sands. She is plagued by nightmares and visions, but her ability to consciously access her powers is limited.
Reg acquires a client with terrible luck. Reg needs all of the psychic powers that she and Starlight possess to see Vivian King’s future and what catastrophic accidents stand in her way.
But this is Black Sands, and all is not as it seems.
With the Magical Spring Games approaching, Damon hires Reg to help him to track down a missing contestant deep in the Everglades. If Reg thought this was going to be a walk in the (national) park, she’s got another thing coming.
Instead of the promised state of balance the equinox was supposed to bring, a power shift within the community has disrupted everything, Reg is under investigation for magical crimes, and her footing in Black Sands is more precarious than ever.
Things were already bad enough for Reg Rawlins, Psychic Investigator. As if being the target of bigotry and hate crimes wasn’t enough, she fears she may finally be losing her grip on her own sanity.
She’s losing her memories, sense of reality, and her central self. And, of course, there’s the small matter of a dead body that she appears to be responsible for.
Reg thought when she received the box of gemstones from the fairies that her wishes had been fulfilled and it was the end of her troubles.
But it was only the beginning.
Timing had never been Reg’s strong suit. It seemed like she was always arriving late or on the wrong day, starting a new venture at the worst possible time, or otherwise fouling things up. But her bad timing was nothing compared to that of Orri.
With time running out and her own doubts weighing heavily on her mind, can Reg summon her inner powers to locate the missing warlock before it’s too late?
As much as she might dislike the warlock who has been a thorn in her side ever since moving to Black Sands, she has never tried to kill him. Well, except maybe that one time. But if she did want Corvin dead, she certainly wouldn’t do it by sneaking into his house at night and attempting to stab him as he slept. Or to try to poison him after that. Why can't the police accept that and just move on?
There’s a new witch in town
And a powerful one at that. Reg doesn’t know what Verity is doing in Black Sands, but she is getting too close to Corvin Hunter for her own safety.
Reg was just trying to help. To be a good neighbor.
But things quickly spiral out of control, leaving Reg fighting for her life.
In the small town of Black Sands, strange things are happening. People are being attacked or disappearing, leaving the community in a state of fear and the police department confused. But when Reg starts investigating, she worries that she may be the one responsible for the chaos—or at least, some of it.
As Reg and her friends investigate the deaths with Corvin and Detective Marta Jessup, they uncover a sinister plot involving the wildly popular Mystical Morsels. But who is distributing them and why? Reg follows the trail to Tennessee, where with the help of her foster sister Erin, they track the mastermind behind the poisoned truffles.
Reg has built a successful business doing psychic readings and investigation in the small town of Black Sands. But when her former lover, Jake, shows up in town with a dangerous secret, Reg is forced to confront her past and protect her community.
