And that tiny part of him that still hopes, that hasn’t followed the rest of him into the black pit his life has become, just has to drive out there and see for himself.

From the description, it seemed like a simple, suspenseful ghost story. Reading, it was that to a T; however, luckily, there were some twists and elements to the story that kept it fresh. I really liked the last half of the story, it picked up a lot and the ending was a thriller!
