Short description

Mountains of cocaine, high-society hookers and gambling debts that could bankrupt a small nation: all in a day's work for... a faith-healer?? This is the twisted tale of a modern-day miracle man...but one with a fundamental flaw: he has no faith. That, as well as his crippling drug addictions and a little too much lust for the feminine flesh, will lead to the end of his empire.

Extended description

From a fresh Canadian voice comes a compelling American tale: A saga of hope and faith, and of drugs and murder.... Of saving lives and of dying too young.
Follow a modern day miracle man on his journey around the globe as he struggles for redemption. Watch as his past misdeeds and his recent crimes stack up against him and ultimately crumble a personal empire he's spent a lifetime building.

Without any "helping hand" on his, self-proclaimed faithless faith-healer Caden Crown has been swindling America for years. Based out of his swanky Las Vegas penthouse and his television studio in the middle of the desert, he spends his free time plowing himself through the millions of dollars he's picked from the pockets of his fans and fanatics, gambling much of it away and devoting the rest to the endless excesses at his disposal in the City of Lights. "4.5 /5 stars: A real gem of a book which is a credit to independent literature. A complex rendering of unique characters who are given authentic voices of their own. Elements which in the hands of lesser writers ruin whole books are carried flawlessly by Steven Maddis to beautiful effect. Rated M for mature: lots of sex, drugs and swears"
