I really enjoyed this story. I only wish it was longer and that we could read the parents response to the outcome.

My thoughts:
Before I talk about this book, I wanted to share something about myself as a reader. I LIVE for great characters. I can read just about anything as long as there are great characters that I can both invest and believe in. With that said, if you love great characters then Lisa Mondello is an author for you. She has created characters that stroll off the pages and into your heart.
Lisa has built a world for her characters that is authentic and realistic. This is a love story, the genuine thing...teenage love gone wrong with the chance to be so much more now that they are all grown up. The question being, will they take the chance? Mandy and Beau will tug at your heartstrings while they struggle with their feelings for each other and the family tangles will make you smile while you cry.
This is the first in the series. It is well written and has a great ending. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

I really enjoyed Mondello's writing! I liked what she did with the characters she gave them real depth and emotions, real troubles and obstacles as well as heart warming moments. Even the supporting cast was very real. And this is why even though the story wasn't for me I'm giving 3 stars, I really enjoyed what Ms. Mondello did with her words.

Loved this story from begining to end. It was one of those ones I thought I was going to want to throw once I read some of it. There were parts where I was completely frustrated with how the story was going only because I was emotionally involved with it at that point. Which for me is great when I can feel the story or relate to it on a level like that. I really loved the book, and will defintely read it again and suggest other read it as well.

I found this second chance around story enjoyable and warm. The hero is a one woman guy who is determined to win back his love from years back. It's the first in apparently a four book series. Looking forward to more.

Her Heart for the Asking by Lisa Mondello
Texas Hearts Book 1

Eight years later she is returning to Texas because her mom told her to visit Uncle Hank. She use to come every year until Beau. Then Texas only held her broken heart and she couldn't face it. She has made a life for herself in Philadelphia working to try and please her father at his Advertising Agency. The minute she steps off the plane in Texas her life changes once again. It's Beau who has come to bring her to the Double T and she finds out that Uncle Hank has serious health issues. She also finds herself feeling like that sixteen year old girl around Beau.

Beau owes his knowledge of the rodeo to Hank Promise and came to help him as soon as he called. He also knew that his feelings for Mandy Morgan had never changed and now she was a beautiful woman. He hoped for a second chance to fix how he left her last time. Can a high class girl from Philadelphia ever find happiness with a cowboy from Texas? This is a shorter story but full of old secrets and new hope.
