This is my first Pierson read but not my last. I really enjoyed the story and felt I could be watching a genuine page out of the old West. Honestly, I prefer "clean romance" and thought I was in that genre when I chose this book but oh well, I can survive a few sexual scenes - I am a granny. The violence is graphic but not more than you'd see in a detective show nowadays.

I like the straightforward approach of this story - no verbal sparring, no longing glances - it is what it is.
