About Jim Hulse

Jim received his BS in Education with a major in oral communications. He did his post graduate work at Missouri. He was a national champion in debate and oratory.

Jim taught public speaking and debate at both the high school and university levels. Many of his students went on to win national titles, and later to become managers and CEOs of some of the best corporations in the world. Jim is extremely proud of those students. Jim has always said, “My real reward is helping others succeed.” For many years he was a business trainer in public speaking and served as a Product Manager, Sales Manager, and Manager of one of the largest corporations in America.

He went on to own and operated his own consulting firm directed at helping companies train their employees in communicating effectively.

For the past several years he managed a successful company in New Zealand. He returned to the United States in 2008 and now spends his time writing and sharing his experience with others

Jim is a U.S. Navy veteran who served as a metal smith and Master-at-Arms on the USS Gunston Hall (LSD 5), an old amphibious ship, during the cold war in the Pacific. He was on operations in Vietnam and steamed off the coast of Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crises. Jim loves life and people. He is one with a smile for all and never takes himself too seriously. Jim is a lover of life, and anticipates each new day as an exciting challenge. He has spent his life helping others to think on their feet, keep a positive attitude, and turn every problem into an opportunity.
Jim is a person who enjoys public speaking. .

This is a very fine piece of writing, a great book, that benefis anyone who reads it, but especially those who need to truly hit the target of their communications.

This is a book written in layman's language, but contains powerful tips on getting results from your audiance in understanding, motivation, persuasion or command. Get it while you are young and be a step ahead in all your communications for life, because your life is based upon how you communicate. Read it, absorb it, use it to become a winner.

I really enjoyed this book. I should have read it years ago as it is full of concise principles of speaking before groups. For example, I never thought of looking at speaker's anxiety as a tool to be used. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to do well when speaking in public.

"The Miracle of Oral Communication" is a concise and usefull tool to have in the arsonal of any public speaker, whether a professional orator or occasional lecturer. All the components needed to create a positive experience for both the speaker and audience are included from preparation and knowledge of material, engagement of the audience, body language and the actual speaking process. It's all available at your fingertips in this book. I highly recommend it. ~ M. Stewart
