About Millys Altman

Millys Altman lives in Uniontown, a small town tucked into the southwest corner of Pennsylvania at the foot of the beautiful Allegheny Mountains. The town flourished in the golden years of the late nineteenth century when coal was king and fortunes were made and is the setting for her historical mystery.
Ms. Altman writes with the wisdom gleaned from a long life. She and her architect husband raised three sons. Innocent Strangers is her second novel.

Innocent Strangers
Millys Altman talks about her historical mystery at the age of 92! The setting is the nineteenth century in the coal rich area where she lives, but the themes in the book are universal: murder, greed, intrigue, blackmail and romance. Writing this book about a place that she knows so well is the fulfillment of a dream that she harbored during many years of writing.

I knew little about the history of western Pennsylvania when I read this book, and I found it so wonderfully informative that now I would like to visit this region of the country. The history is woven into the story for a captivating read. I was sorry when the book ended because I got to know the characters so well that I didn't want to leave them. I highly recommend this

I love history. Reading this book I felt transported to a time and place I was not familiar with: a Pennsylvania coal mining town in the late 1800's. Once I started reading I didn't want to put it down. This book is an enjoyable read.
