About Ward Best

Ward Best been involved in the construction and overhaul of nuclear submarines and submersibles. He has managed a nuclear waste cleanup site and is currently involved with cyber security.
For fun, he has been an EMT, go cart racer, Big Band member and had to abandon his attempt to become a private pilot after trying to kill himself on a solo cross county. His personal interests run to music and history.
In High School Ward's locker was five down from Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead, Burn Notice) where Sam Raimi (Evil Dead, Spiderman, Oz) and Tim Quill (Evil Dead) were frequent visitors. It isn't yet certain that any of their brilliance has rubbed off. You, the reader will be the judge of that.

The Toad King is his first novel and reflects his sense of humor and somewhat distorted view of the world.

Review by: Alcatraz80 on Feb. 22, 2013 :
The Toad King was a fantastic read! I've yet to read a book that combined so many genres of literature so beautifully. This book has everything from science fiction, to comedy, to tragedy, to conspiracy theory, and even a bit of a love story. I was highly impressed with the author's ability to grab my attention at the first page and keep me reading for 100's of pages at a time. There was obviously a good amount of thought, time, and dedication devoted to the storyline of this book.

I would recommend this book to anyone interested in provoking thought in regards to the future of science, morality, and mankind. You will not be let down by this author's ability to captivate you with the content of this book and keep you thirsting for more! I should probably add that I originally bought this book in paperback from Amazon but had to have a copy from for my iPad as well.
