One married couple after WW I in New Zealand picking up to make a life on a bare land as farmers. It works out so far but life brings out many hardships where Love alone, will not bring the peace back. A nice short story we can all take an example from.

The piece is written in a fashion that captures the era. A first person perspective, it quickly and easily covers the life of a woman from her young adult life to an gray haired woman. It feels very much like the journal of the woman, revealing the authors insights into the tragic events that feels authentic.

One of the most powerful, emotional pieces of writing I've read recently. Wonderfully emotive and sad. I'm sure there are so many couples who can identify with this extremely well written, poignant story.

I absolutely hate reading short stories. I never buy or read them because they always have left me feeling short-changed. But Shayne Parkinson's All I Want is the exception. Just like her Promises to Keep quartet, this is an outstanding story that complements the world of Amy Lieth. Now, all I want is the next novel in the life of Amy Lieth.

I took in the beauty of this story as if I were sitting at the Pinnacle looking at the thread of blue on the edge of the world. All I Want is a tale of romance in early 20th century New Zealand, full of rich description with a neatly stitched social background balanced with a wider perspective of the Great War and, in looking to the past, one woman's calm acceptance of her life.

Brilliant piece of writing full of vivid descriptions of the landscape. The writer conveys the period convincingly; moreover, she writes as if she were living during the 1900s.
