Imagine a fat, happy pregnant lady sitting on the couch, drinking sparkling apple juice and scribbling on a sticky note pad. That would be me on New Year's Eve, 2010.

I don't remember what made me decide to start writing classic movie haiku that night--but once I started, I kept going until I had notes stuck all over my belly. I was a mountain of yellow paper. That crazed session formed the foundation for what you will find here.

Some of these haiku have appeared on the blog, Classic Movies. Most were written especially for this book. Together, they are a tribute to many of the things that I love about classic movies. I hope you will have as much fun reading them I had filling up those sticky notes.
