A Liberated Woman
By
Kate Loveday
(Historical Romance - Book Two of the Redwood Series)

With the passing of the Married Woman’s Property Act 1893, Kitty Barron no longer needs to fear losing Redwoods should she choose to marry again. But her existence is safe and settled, if unexciting, and she is content with life as it is – until a chance meeting changes her mind.

Meanwhile, her daughter Joy is emerging from pubescence into young womanhood, and longs to explore the world beyond Bulahdelah. When she and her friend Lily go to England to enjoy a London Season, the experiences they encounter force Joy to grow up in a hurry.

After much cajoling Joy gains her mother’s permission to go to England to visit her grandparents, Lord and Lady Barron, and to be presented to the Queen in her coming out. Accompanying her is a close friend, Lily who is the daughter of family friend, Rufe Cavanagh.

The heady and exciting world of society London is a mixture of adventures and heartache for both Joy and Lily. Meanwhile, Kitty has agreed to marry Rufe and they travel to England to also be in attendance when Joy is presented to the Queen.

Intrigue and mischief surround the family and a rogue from the past re-appears to cause much anguish. The story of Kitty, Rufe, Joy and Lily will endear you to these fascinating people and this story is a fitting follow-up to the much acclaimed, An Independent Woman.

Well written and full of mystery and intrigue, A Liberated Woman will have you begging for more from this talented author.
