Description

This collection of light verse, written by Iowa native Beth LaBuff, will delight anyone who has lived on, visited, or even seen a picture of a farm. You'll laugh as you read about a corn crib that was repurposed by fowl society in "Barred Plymouth Rock Band," and learn what made a catfish sweat in "Catfish on a Hot Tin Roof." Perfect for family reading, each poem gives a nod to a Bible phrase.

It's so easy to get caught up in the rhythm and rhyme that each time the "punchline" arrived, my smile broadened. Great talent and a fun mixture of word-craft will be discovered with each poem by this author.

Clever, witty, insightful. Those three adjectives abound in this imaginative and engaging collection of poems. I highly recommend this book to those who need great big ole smiles plastered across their faces. Excellent.
