Before reading this informative book, I had no idea where to go or how to get started in creating cover art for my stories. Years ago I used MS Publisher a little and took a class to learn how to use Photoshop. The author's clear explanations and cogent advice gave me the courage to dust off those old skills and create my own cover art. Exactly what I was looking for!

Before getting this book I knew virtually nothing about buying images and was really struggling to get anything useful out of Gimp. Having read this book I have now designed and published 5 book covers. Best money I have spent this year!

This ebook is very helpful. I can't thank Joleene enough for her valuable information. Her book helped me to plan and coordinate the cover for my very first published ebook on Smashwords. I will keep this book as a reference for future projects. You won't be disappointed. Never underestimate the importance of a good book cover.

I downloaded this book to help me design the cover for my novel, A Military Republic. The book has excellent advice about licensing photos, websites for buying photos and above all an invaluable guide to using gimp for designing the cover. I definitely recommend this to cover designing beginners.

I found this book to be extremely valuable! The advice on licensing content was good but didn't get me anywhere -- but the step-by-step creation process got me to where I needed to be in no time, without concerns over whether what I ended up with for a cover was going to be acceptable or not. It's a great 'how-to' book!

Loved the book. Very well done with complete step-by-step instructions and a boatload of links to other resources.
I only wish one of her step-by-step examples had included PhotoShop as I do own it along with the entire CS4 Master Suite which I am completely overwhelmed and intimidated by.

This is an excellent book for any do-it-yourselfer who wants to create an ebook cover. Joleene gives step-by-step instructions for creating a cover using several different software programs, including the popular and free GIMP. I created my first cover for my science fiction romance ebook: Not Just A Girl, using Joleene's instructions and a little luck, and I'll be using her instructions again when I build the cover for my next ebook. Thanks again, Joleene.

This was a huge help when we were creating covers for my husband's e-books. This is the first time we've done any sort of e-publishing, and we were pretty ignorant of even the basics. I especially liked the information on licensing and sources for images.

"How TO Get A Cheap Book Cover" by Joleene Naylor was just what I was looking for. It is informative yet a very easy read. After reading it, I felt I had enough information to make a decision on my own abilities to create a book cover. In the end, however, I went with a book cover designer: Joleene Naylor! And couldn't be happier! If you'd like to view the cover, you can see it displayed here on Smashwords: THE ENEMY WE KNOW by Donna White Glaser. Thanks, Joleene!

I found that "How to Get A Cheep Book Cover" by Joleene Naylor was informative and helpful. It helps one to decide whether to do their book cover themselves, or just hire someone.
I have to say that I find doing a book cover is hard and I rather just hire someone. (: But, I want to learn the basics to manipulate the GIMP program (that I have) for future reference. I want to be proficient enough decide whether or not to put the expense out for Adobe Photoshop.
You will not be disappinted with the information that "How to Get A Cheap book Cover" provides.
