Bought and read through the same day. I knew about Molly from past years of reading Jim's posts online, but not until I read the book did I know the whole story and truly understand what an integral part of the family Molly the Cat became. Great tale (no pun intended!), & highly recommended if you like animals, travel, *or* boats!

Just finished "Cat on a Leash". This is a terrific heart warming book that will appeal to both critter lovers and boating enthusiasts alike as well as adventurous souls. It is well written and uniquely and occassionally provides the events from Molly's, the cat, perspective. Molly was truly a member of Jim and Joan Bathurst's family in boat and RV travel from one end of the Country to the other and even into Canada. That Molly was willing to walk on a leash brough attention to her where ever she went. Especially compelling is the early part of the story describing how Molly selected Jim and Joan as members of her family and the months it took for this to become reality.

An epic adventure and a page-turner. Most enjoyable. Bathhurst tells a cat's tale, but he also gives excellent insight into why cruising a small boat may be some of the best fun a couple (and their cat!) can have. A delightful read. I can't wait to reread Cat on a Leash, riding at anchor in a quiet cove.

Cat on a Leash will take you into the heart and lives of Man, a Wife and a very special cat. Within the first few pages you realize this book was written from the heart. It is a wonderful insight into the feelings we have for our pets, and the relationships wherein they become part of the family.
Highly recommended reading

"Cat on a Leash" is a wonderful book that all who either love to travel or have loved a special animal will enjoy. Jim's writing is clear and descriptive. The author and Molly take the reader on an exciting adventure. The reader is treated to insights of the humans and cat along the way. I was captivated by the story and finished the book within a day of my purchase.
Strongly recommend.

Bought this book the first day it was available, read it immediately. I felt like I already knew Molly although I didn't get a chance to meet her nor her parents (yet). I do know Jim and Joan from the boat site he mentions (CBrats)and have read about her there along with their many exploits. If you miss pictures in the book, you can go to that website and see many of her and them or go to his blog which is full of rich stories and beautiful pictures.
This is a well written book and flows from chapter to chapter. The perspective of the kitty cannot be matched! I hope it becomes more widely available. I cannot wait for the sequel, "Living with Izzie".
