This is definitely one of the best series I've ever read, and it saddens me that it will be over soon.
Lindsay's excellent writing and her great sense of humour, of course, show in her other books as well, but I've come to love the characters of this series so much - I will truly miss them.

This book is darker than most in the series, but just as enjoyable. The only frustrating thing about it is the cliffhanger ending (VERY frustrating - and this is the only reason I took a star off). I very much look forward to seeing how the series ends, and whether Sicarius is capable of being starstruck when he finally meets Starcrest again. :)

This series continues to be enjoyable, well-written, well-edited and formatted. Can't wait for the next book.

Have just finished book 6 a fantastic and addictive series looking forward to the next book, but now to the short stories to fill in a bit of the time till it arrives. Has to be highly recommended, anything less would be an insult

Best yet in a great series! Loved finally getting a peek inside Sicarius's head. Fast paced, well written dialogue with plenty of suspense and humor. But Lindsay wasn't kidding about this one having a cliffhanger ending, in part because she needed to divide the final book in the series into two parts. She promised to have the final book available late July-early August and her fans are going to hold her to it . . . including me!

I sure hope she sees fit to bring Amaranthe's gang back together early in the final book. Lots of loose ends to tuck into place including getting a chance to meet the Starcrest family. Fun!

I highly recommend the whole Emperor's Edge series including various short stories. :-)

I did think this book in the series started a little slower than usual...however,
The action picked up nicely..the characters continue to develop and I really enjoyed reading this and all books by Linsay.

Wow! I can not give this book high enough praise. It has everything I have come to love Lindsay's work for: realistic dialogue, fast-paced action and most of all, a sleepless night on sleep day as I read it cover to cover.

I have been looking forward to this book's release since the previous, shorter, novella released earlier this year and it does not disappoint.

Amazing work, Lindsay. I can't wait for the second half. I wish Smashwords let me give this more than five stars, it desserves it.

Absolutely brilliant, this series just gets better and better. But oh no, not another cliffhanger! This is worse than the end of Conspiracy (book four in the series). Roll on August for the conclusion to this story arc, (though, hopefully, not the end for these wonderful characters). A real rollercoaster of emotions in this one, despite the secondary viewpoint being that of Sicarius, our stoic assassin; but still full of all the trademark action, adventure, excitement, and humour we've come to love. If you're new to this author, or this series, you need to read them in order - and book one The Emperor's Edge just happens to be free!
