About Nick Travers

Nick wanted to be that mystical figure, an author, from almost the very first book he read. As a child his mind constantly buzzed with characters and adventures, fed by an insatiable appetite for stories. Unfortunately, a childhood tramping the wilds of Dartmoor (in the UK), the joys of playing jazz trombone, and generally having a blast, left little time for serious writing as he grew up.

Later, an education in science and the demands of holding down a career again pushed writing to one side. Finally, with a second-hand laptop off e-bay Nick embarked on his first Novel - Helium 3.0.

Nick has migrated north since his childhood, swapping the wilds of Dartmoor for the tranquility of the New Forrest (Hampshire, UK). He is enjoying the adventure of having a family (the greatest adventure of his life) with three lively daughters, who all enjoy reading as much as he does.

In addition to writing, Nick lists his hobbies as gardening (the variety that employs a large pair of choppers and requires him to sit around admiring the view), swimming (because it frees his mind and releases his imagination), juggling (because he can), and one day he would like to learn to play the piano (because the trombone really isn’t a solo instrument).

I enjoyed this book and it reminded me of Lois McMaster Bujold's Miles Vorkosigan stories.
Let's say it slightly too short for a novel : I read it straight away while waiting for a plane, that is why four stars only.

The fun continues. Fast paced. The camaraderie of the main characters make the story a winner. Can't quit to read more in this series.

Thanks for the discount code from your blog, Nick. This is an awesome and easy read! I am such a Starwars and Star Trek fan; I loved the characters. I couldn't stop reading it! I think my favourite is of course the hero Mervyn. As I read each page I felt as if I was right there with the characters! And you see as Mervyn struggles and gains friends. Each character gives some importance to the story and becomes close to your heart. Wonderful work. I hope that this story will continue on so I may see this series of adventure and friendship come to a full bloom.
