The end of the world and all of the possible scenarios after have been written and told, but this story takes a different and fresh approach to what could happen. The prequel in the series sets the tone. Fast read leaves you wanting to find out who might die next.

An original premise and reasonably well told. My main problem with the story is the lack an emotional impact. I understand what is going on but I never really feel the desperation of the characters. It almost seems as though they just accept that this is the world is now and just move on.

For this to become a great series, some sort of emotion has to be added. Don't tell me about their relationships, show me. Make me feel and experience their loss and their struggle.

Right now, I say take a pass as there several better stories in this category.

EXCEPTIONAL story! Scott Nicholson is the consummate professional, and his pre-writing research is incredibly intense and comprehensive. His writing is flawless and impeccable. Or, to put it another way, this is a good story; you really should read it. You will never again look at jets flying overhead the same way.

Besides, how can you beat this price?
