It took a while to get 'hooked', the story moved at a leisurely pace but in the end in keeping with the style the author was going for. This book is apparently a kind of fan fiction follow-on to Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey (which I have not read and know nothing of actually). Not really realizing that at the time I read this book is probably what took me a while to warm up to the book. In the end, I must say though that I did enjoy the book quite a lot. In fact, I've sought out - but still haven't read, alas - Northanger Abbey to get more of the back story to this one!
