The Frozen Water Trade -- A mission to help an old friend results in a night trapped in a cabin with blizzards and underworld predators on the outside and vengeful relatives on the inside. Alas, it's bad form to kill the client's father.

I felt that this collection of stories were a bit too fantastic. In one story I felt the plot a bit rediculous. Perhaps this was because I was coming form having read Lindsay Buroker's other novels from the same universe and had high expectations.

Ice Cracker II is a small collection of short stories illuminating some details in the lives of the characters starring in Lindsay Buroker's wonderful steampunk/cop/military/fantasy series The Emperor's Edge and Dark Currents. While the stories may not be independent reads, the collection is a lovely addition to that series.
