I just LOVE the way Dorte can take you in one direction and just second later end the story with a quick twist in the other direction! She's a master a these quick little twists of murder and mayhem. A definite "to be read" for anyone with a wicked sense of humor and a love for murder mysteries. Each tale take but a few paragraphs and on to the next. Prepare for liquorice whiplash!

LIQUORICE TWISTS delivers twenty flash fiction treats that twist together humor and crime. Jakobsen lures the reader in with seemingly pleasant scenes that quickly turn dark. Her characters come to life in a few lines, even though some commit murder in just as many! The writing is clean and sharp and quite entertaining.
This collection is definitely worth a read. My favorite stories are “Castle in the Sand”, “The Red Sofa”, “Cutbacks”, and “Mothers and Daughters”.

This collection of flash fiction from Dorte Jakobsen is her best offering yet. A bit darker than Candied Crime and Heather Farm, these stories are fun, light reading. Each one, as the title would indicate, provides a clever twist that leaves the reader satisfied. I look forward to the day we have a full length novel from this author!
