About Jonathan Nichols

I am 31 years old and have always loved writing so being a professional author is a dream I've had since I was a kid. Elemental Touch is my first book, and I've been working on it since 2010. I've already discussed some of my influences in my interview section but specifically for this book I was definitely influenced by sci-fi and fantasy movies that stepped outside of the box like Krull and Willow. I love it when a story crosses genres like the fantasy aspects of Star Wars or the sci-fi elements of Krull. When I wrote this I set out to create a modern fantasy story that would inspire people to look at the world and history differently, similar to what Dan Brown did with The Davinci Code, but at the same time I wanted the story to be action-packed and just fun to read and not so huge that the idea of reading it seems like a daunting task. For instance, I started reading Moby Dick in high school and I loved it, but to this day I've never finished it cause it's just so long. That's why I'm planning this book as a series so that instead of one huge book, or in the case of most series today SEVERAL huge books, you get several small books that feel more like episodes in a tv series. I am already working on the next book and I am really looking forward to hearing what my readers think about Elemental Touch,

I love the flow of this book. Following the character vs. just reading by chapter kept me reading to see what would happen next and gave me a more personal connection to each character. I can't wait to see what happens next!
