The Night Watcher, 29 April 2011
By Gwen Kirkwood – Dumfries.
The Night Watcher has arrived in the city of Dundee ahead of Julie Chalmers and he has already chosen his next victim. He has a terrifying conviction that he is right in his pursuit, but this is not the first murder he has committed.
A gripping story about people who appear quite normal, that is until you discover some of them have chillingly darker depths, demanding your attention and an urge to uncover the facts. Julie has been told of her estranged husband’s death. In her own mind she is convinced there is only one person to blame and she is determined to seek revenge so she moves into the flat above the one where he died and sets out to pursue and punish her. Chris Longmuir is a prize winning author and an expert at creating the sort of atmosphere to send shivers down your spine as you follow Julie on her journey around the city.
Too late the detective in charge realises he has made a grave error. Could Julie herself become a victim of The Night Watcher? Enjoy trying to figure out the twists and turns of Longmuir’s clever plotting, but be prepared for a final surprise
