I have not yet read the series so I cannot comment whether this is a prequel or a short with-in the series. I can tell you the story begins in August 1999 while Jessica is returning for a camping trip from hell with her soon to be ex-boyfriend Steve and his friends Brian and Abi. Where in diabetic distress Jessica Tandy meet Flint Riverclaw and he tends to immediate needs of her health.

The cover art was not horrible but with the story I expected more. My daughter downloaded “Claimed” for free on by kindle because of the Good Reads Synopsis: Jessica Tandy is coming back from a camping trip in Alaska, when she meets the tall, dark and handsome Flint Riverclaw. They chat in a bar during a rest stop, which eventuates into a one-night-stand, and ultimately changes the rest of her life. Why do Flint’s brown eyes occasionally glow turquoise, or he growls so much? Imaginations run wild, in this supernatural, romance novella,

“Claimed” is a small nugget of a novella written by K.R. Smith to bring readers into her “Circulate Series”. Now does it work? For this reader would have to o’l fat “YES”!

A quick read, but still very good. I love fantasy romance stories and this is one of the best I've read in a long time.

3 out of 5 stars. This story puts an interesting twist on what it means to be a werewolf and to be the mate of one. I thought these different aspects of being a werewolf were very clever and makes me wonder what Flint and the other Lokoti Werewolves look like!! Nevertheless, because of the poor reviews on Amazon.com I didn't expect this to be as cute and erotic as I found it!

Yes, I agree, with some of the other reviewers on Amazon.com who said that this story doesn't have the best of writing. But in some ways, I just thought it all works!

I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a light, fun, paranormal romance!

Love this book. It is a funny yet sweet werewolf romance. It is an 18+ read :) The characters are wonderful and there are many parts in this story that made me laugh and/or want to smack a man -.- You must read this trust me you can't go wrong with a hot, buffed up werewolf with long black hair :) If I was the main female character I would have never left this hot werewolf's side *swoon*

Claimed by K.R. Smith
This is a pretty short quick read. Jessica Tandy was off on an Alaskan adventure with her boyfriend of two months, Steve and another couple. The trip helped her to see he was not her kind of guy. The biggest problem was he did not seem to care about her diabetes. As her numbers were off course so was her attitude. When they stopped in the small town of Alma and went into Charlie's Bar, it all came to a head. Jess just wanted to get to Anchorage and a real hotel, bed and shower. Steve and the others wanted to drink. She was rescued from her almost diabetic shock by a handsome Alaskan native, Flint Riverclaw.

After a wonderful night in Anchorage with Flint, Jessica quietly leaves him sleeping in the morning and heads back to Seattle. When Flint appears at her door a few days later, he lets her know that she is now his mate, he's a werewolf and she is carrying his child. Her well ordered world quickly changes. **Language and sexual situations.

Today's review is on Claimed by K.R. Smith

Claimed is the first book in Smith's Lokoti Werewolf series and though I have read some negative reviews of this book, I think it was pretty good and I really enjoyed reading it. The copy that I have been given did have one or two error's, but I was notified that the author has already submitted a revised copy.

Jessica Tandy, a self proclaimed city girl and business professional, goes on a camping trip with her boyfriend of two months and a couple of his friends. Unfortunately, what she thought would be fun turns into the camping trip from Hell. All she wants now is a nice hot bath, a nice bed to sleep in, some good old fashion room service, and an actual toilet. When the group stops at a local bar it seems she will not get any those things though, plus she's hungry and her blood sugar is low. There is one shining star in all of this though. It seems she has caught the attention of a tall-dark-and-handsome Lokoti man.

Flint offers to drive Jessica to Anchorage; which is a four hour drive, wanting to make sure she gets there safe. After all, her "boyfriend" doesn't seem to be taking care of her and he's been drinking. But once at her hotel room neither one of them can control the passion that is flowing between them. In the morning she leaves before he awakes and heads home to Seattle.

Once home and settled, she finds that she just can not get the handsome Lokoti, Flint Riverclaw, out of her head and is surprised when he shows up on her doorstep. Flint has some surprising news for Jessica. Not only does she find out that Flint is a Werewolf, but that she is now his mate and is carrying his child.

Claimed was well written and flowed nicely. No, it is not a perfect story, but it IS good. A nice one day story that will leave you with a smile.

Claimed is a gorgeous short novella which I would have liked to have been a bit longer but at the same time was written and completed perfectly as it was. I can't believe how jealous I am of Jessica her life sounds just so perfect and I could easily see myself hanging out with her and the lokoti werewolf tribe. This was such a wonderful and at times quite funny story.

Jessica has just had the week from hell on a terrible camping trip with her boyfried and his friends. All she wants is to get to her motel so she can get a plane home the next day. They end out stopping at a small town bar though and all that Jessica's boyfriend and his friends want to do is drink and drink. Jessica is diabetic though and her blood sugar level is quite low not that any of them seem to care. Luckily for Jessica the local perfect Mr tall, dark and handsome comes to her rescue by offering orange juice, a meal and a lift to her motel room. Jessica is hesitant but accepts and after this night her life will change forever.

Great story! I hope there is a follow up to the story, maybe make it into a mini series?!? I would love to keep reading about the werewolves... thank you so much for this enchanting and captivating romance. Aside from some back and forth from past to present tense and some minor typos, the story reads great! Fell in love with Flint right away! What a man... =)or were as it is in this case!!!

Awesome read, couldn't put it down. I loved this part of the story just as much as the others from 'Circulate' and 'Scent' and I can't wait for the next book to come out this year. Again great work K.R. Smith in making your characters come alive (in this case as a e book format).

Let me start with what I didn't like: This novella needs to be fumigated for commas, de-"which"-ified, and firmly settled in either the present tense or the past tense, not both. Written from the first person, I believe the author forgot whether she was telling a story she'd experienced or was experiencing. It was annoying and kept knocking me out of the narrative. Also, the word "whilst" was used too much and should only show up in Historical fiction, not contemporary.
However, I loved her idea and her characters. I loved the idea of a werewolf tribe and how the male/female dynamic worked. I loved the power and majesty with which she infused her hero, Flint Riverclaw. I loved the reasoning behind Jessica's need for her mate.
This is a good second draft. It could have used some better editing and some careful critiquing. Had that happened, it would have been a kick-ass story.

This was great! Totally surpassed my expectations. I loved it, I couldn't stop reading from the second I started reading and I didn't want to stop! This was definately one of the better werewolf stories I have read in a while. I loved the characters, I love the way Flint protected Jessica right from the start. This was so well written, it flowed so smoothly and the information about the Tribe and its ways were told in a way that didn't leave you confused or feeling over-loaded with information. An amazing read.
