Novelines:
The ghost was swimming with a pack of dolphins, just off the coast of Morro Bay, when he perceived her anguish. Instantly beside her, he materialized and caught her as she fell to the floor, deep sobs wracking her body. He sat on the floor, holding her and stroking her hair.
"Kabul, Afghanistan at winter's end, no one in their right mind would be there by choice."
"And there it was, that unfathomable conundrum of the human spirit, the desire to be something other than what one is, bred no doubt from some lost memory of having been better...I was tired beyond belief of the drudgery people endure while slogging along the apparenty never-ending path to enlghtenment. What ever happended to, 'Carpe diem,' for God's sake!"
Slowly and deliberately, he brought her to a heavenly state of pure bliss that she'd forgotten.
"The fool in the church is not the one in charge...the Master demon lives in a cavern beneath the alter."
"As it turned out, the chap whose body I'd taken over had a wife."
"The day Bryan came back, I was striding with great gusto down the road to perdition...Finally, I got to kill someone."
"Seeing the blood on the windows, the driver went white with shock and his knees gave out. He plopped down, trembling, in the dirt beside the road."
"I felt the life being sucked out of me once more. I did not resist."
Sutton kept a look-out for Highway Patrol as Kate gave the Porche a work-out..."
Nadia laughed softly, "You have become lost in love?"
Bertie laughed, "The challenge of all challenges, letting go of attachments when they feel so damned good."
Inexplicably, he loved her. If he'd had a choice, he would not love a human woman.

A decade after the events of “The Sorcerer’s Confession,” we return to Charles Sutton’s world again, to learn more of his story. Charles can be anyone, do almost anything – heal or harm with a thought. What he cannot seem to do is to escape the clutches of the Master Demon, who has been trying to own Charles for centuries. Can Charles finally escape his clutches?
It was great to continue Charles’ story – the characters continue to be real to the reader, and this story builds upon the previous one. I will mention, however, that this book was not as well-edited as the previous one – there were numerous instances of misused words, the wrong form of a homonym, and punctuation errors, as well as missing and extra words. It was not enough to mark off a star, but it was enough to be somewhat distracting. While the plot flows smoothly and the story reads well, it could do with a final proof/copy-editing to smooth those last rough edges. However, again, this book is filled with fascinating insights into the human condition and interesting metaphysical tid-bits that I feel are important to those searching for truth. Be sure to get your hands on this wonderful duo of books and enjoy the read!
