What fun this story is. My friends told me it was short and they were right. It's just a single act. Someone gave a single star because it was predictable. Of course it was predictable it is a short story and still it was a cute story.

Of all the things, to happen when you run away. Getting caught by the person you are running from. Just love the male character, so bashful when he have no reason to thanks to Abby's point of view.

Cleverly written, with quite a twist. A feel good story.
Runaway fiancee frightened by the reputation of her intended whom she has not met, hides in coach storage, in danger of being mistreated, saved by caring, gentleman, and treated kindly, who is treated with kindness and respect by her in spite of his facial scar which has apparently frightened others.

This was a really short novella, but it was still a lot of fun to read! (And it's free on Smashwords: http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/75131) Because it's so short, it's very predictable, but it's also a fun read!

Abby is stowing away in the storage compartment of a mail coach -- trying to escape a horrible marriage. She's never met the groom, but she's heard all the rumors about him. If the rumors are true, he will starve her, beat her, and throw her in the dungeon. And he's deformed! So she is heading to see her Aunt Millicent and hoping her Aunt will talk some sense into her father.

She gets caught stowing away, and the coach driver makes her an offer she MUST refuse! "She would not escape abuse at the hands of a husband only to find it with a stranger!"

Just in time she is rescued by a finely dressed gentleman who captures her heart and changes the way she sees everything!

Wow that was the shortest "book" Ive yet read. It was very good even for its shortness. It would make a wonderful full length novel, something the author should really consider.

Short and sweet. Abby is running away. Her father refuses to break her betrothal from a beast of a man. The rumors about the man she was too marry had her scarred to death. Deformed, dallied with his help, beat servants and had a dungeon that was full. On her journey she meets a kind and loving man and wishes she could marry him instead.

I loved the opening scene, it really draws you into the story and makes you want to keep reading. Although it was short, it was a fun story. I do wish it was a full length novel, but with my hectic schedule it was nice to read a fun short story. I love the regency setting and of course I'm a sucker for HEA endings.
