One cannot help but get attached to Venture, the main character, and gain more and more respect for him as he grows. Most definitely a thoroughly enjoyable read, both for teens and adults. I will be eagerly looking for the sequel!

Venture is a young man that is bonded to Master Grand Fieldstone. He has grown up with Fieldstone's daugher, Jade. Venture is being educated by Jade's grandmother. His ambition and energy tend to get him into some binds. Venture is quick to defend and protect Jade sometimes getting himself into more difficulties than he knows how to get out of.

At Grant's bidding, Venture is enrolled in Beamer's Center for the fighting arts. The story follows Venture through his training at Beamer's including working with his trainer Earnest, the growing friendship with Lance, and the constant bullying by Colt. Through it all, Venture is learning how to channel his anger and frustrations through his fighting.

Venture's greatest obstacle is that he is a bonded man, therefore, he does not enjoy the same "freedoms" or privileges as the other youth of the center. Venture must overcome the scrutiny of not only the Crested society, but that of his own brother who is looking out for the best interest of his younger brother.

This is a well written story full of an interesting plot and several underlying subplots. The conflicts that the main character must overcome provide an interesting story for the reader. However, the setting and the understanding of the fighting society seem to leave this reader confused and somewhat lost at times. The time period and facilities available to the people seem to lack clarity. Overall, this is an enjoyable read and I am looking forward to reading Venture Unleashed next.

We are introduced to Venture, a bonded servant who has just lost his mother, leaving him an orphan. Venture is brought up with the daughter of the master and with her as inspiration dreams of escaping his bonds and becoming a famous prize fighter. He gets his chance when his master arranges for Venture to train at the local gym, where he has to overcome prejudice towards his lowly class and show everyone what he can do. I really liked this book, it was very well written and the characters believable. Highly recommended!

"Venture Untamed" is about a young boy named Venture. Venture is a bonded servant who wants to go into the career of Prize fighting to rise above his class. The character of Venture is very intriguing. He is an extremely strong person you can't help but root for. While reading this book I felt like I was with Venture every time he stepped on the mat during his training. The fighting scenes in this book are very vivid. I felt every punch and choke-hold while reading this book. This book is full of energy and suspense.

Since he was young, Venture wanted to be a prize fighter. His mother was a private nurse for Jade, the daughter of Grant Fieldstone. When his mother passed away, the Fieldstone family kept him so he could have a possible future. Where there is trouble, Venture will be found. He’s been bonded at a young age and is now in training to control his fighting and learn how to fight the proper way. Venture and Jade have a close friendship and that is causing trouble for him. He has to learn that she is his mistress and can’t show the friendship they share out of respect for her and her family. He’s in training and that as well is causing problems for him. It seems no matter what he tries to do right, it isn’t. Venture is about to make a life changing decision, but would it be the right one? He knew that society would frown on him wanting Jade in his life but that was all he thought about. He wanted to be with her and no one else. What would he do to have her for him and him only?

I absolutely loved this novel! It surprised me because when I first read the synopsis, I wasn't sure I would enjoy it. Boy, did I change my mind. It was a wonderful story about a boy determined to rise from his situation and become what he always dreamed of.

Although it started slow for me, I can't deny that I was drawn in by the story and it's characters. The world was incredibly well built, I honestly believed that I was there even though I don't know everything about it, the author brought it to life. The characters, even the lesser ones, are so relate able and you can't help but fall in love their stories and their struggles.

The fighting was epic! I can't even tell you how captivated I was by each move and how the author described it. Honestly, I have never been one to read books about fighting but this has completely changed my mind and my opinion.

If you think that the fighting isn't something you're into, trust me, the story is bigger than that. The love story between Jade and Venture is wonderful, the relationship between Venture and his elder brother is sadly captivating, and his relationship with fighting is different than I would've thought.

I recommend that everyone read this wonderful book! It's captivating and I loved it!
