While there are tons of books on how to write a novel or nonfiction book and how to market your book, there is little written about the business end of self-publishing. This is directed at American authors because this is my primary area of expertise. If you live anywhere other than the U.S. please check with your own country’s regulations. I’ve spent thousands of dollars on college degrees, thousands of hours in research, and been in thousands of business consulting meetings over the years. Unlike most authors out there who self publish their books and novels, and this book is for you!

I finally read a Smashwords book worth reading. Kudos to J. L. Murphey. Her little book of tax advice and business advice is right on the money (pun intended). I've been earning money from my writing for over 50 years and wish I had known the facts in Murphey's book from the get go. If you are new to writing (or making tons of money) be sure to read this one! It's well worth your time.
