Have to admit i also luv the Captain Picard quotes, "Make it so number one", they add humor and warmth to a social media navigation handbook. It takes the overwhelming avenues and paths you can embark on in persuing a socail media compaign and chunks it down to concievable plans and goals. Informing you to play to your strenghts whether its writing blogs, getting in front of the camra on youtube, or short updates on Twitter, accomodating novices and beginners. I think the most valuable piece of advice it reveals is the linking of all your media accounts. This saves on the time and energy you invest into it, which in my opinion is a priceless commodity

Let’s start with the beginning line, as a Trekkie, I love that he quotes Captain Picard, from this we know what follows is going to be good. Start Your Own Social Media Campaign Today walks you through doing just that in a very precise easy to follow out line with detailed information and explanations. Each chapter starts with a little line from Captain Picard and then goes into the topic. If additional explanation is needed, it’s there but you never feel as if the author assumes we are all lost in the social media terminology black hole of space. I’ve been making myself known online for six months now, in earnest, starting with the basics, a Facebook account and blog, moving on to twitter, LinkedIn and tumbler, turns out I was doing it right, but even I found a few more tweaks that will help me focus my attention and hopefully pull in more to respond to my post. Anyone looking to build an online following would benefit by this book.
