The first episode launches you right into the action almost in the first page. Christian is tragically killed by a car and his daughter left behind to be cared for by his abusive ex-wife. He can't emotionally abandon his daughter so his soul is physically trapped and he becomes a Lost Soul: those who will not cross over because of strong emotional ties to people on Earth.
Christian soon learns there are others like him and part of their role is to protect humanity from being used by the Changed (Lost Souls who have let their anger take over, changing them into energy sucking creatures) He has to figure out how to function in this new world and use his new abilities to protect his daughter who has become the target of a Changed.
I really enjoyed the pacing of this story. It's also quite short, allowing you to read it in a few sittings. As a stand alone it is a bit confusing since there is little backstory or information about the Lost Souls and how they adapted to live.
This story left you hanging and makes you want to pick up episode 2.

Christian Thompson has just won a long struggle with his evil ex and gained custody of his precious daughter. While out for a walk with her he is struck by a car and killed. Refusing to move on and leave his daughter to the mercy of his ex-wife he stays earthbound. That’s when the really weird stuff begins.
I really enjoyed this story. I’ve read stories that had ghosts or spirits in them, but usually they were adjuncts or side kicks not as main characters. Writing is smooth, characters are interesting and the world is fascinating.
I’m looking forward to Episode 2. I can’t wait to see where this is heading.
