Interview with Althea Jackson

What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My family
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Being a full-time mom to 3 kids
What is your writing process?
I just go with the flow when I am writing there is nothing that can stop my fingers from moving.
Describe your desk
Ha! My desk is anywhere I want to be comfortable at, and mostly it is my bed with my laptop on my knee.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The very first book I read cover to cover was Anne Rice's Tale of the Body Thief. I was about 16 years old and I fell in with it.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes I do, it was the Legend of Cretin Pond. I started writing it in 9th grade.
When did you first start writing?
I first started writing in High School, I had an English teacher Mr. Harrison that gave a free period and I just starting writing. I have an uncompleted story that I started, but I will finish one day soon
How do you approach cover design?
I asked my Facebook friends and family if anyone can draw. My cousin messaged me and say he did within a few days he sent me this beautiful Angel that is now my cover.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
I love the Mortal Instruments series, The Hungers Games series, The Witch and Wizard series. I love the supernatural world. That is why I think I am drawn to them.
What's the story behind your latest book?
My latest book is based off of one of the main characters from The Diary of An Angel from his point of view, his words, his emotions.
Who are your favorite authors?
Anne Rice, Stephan King, Cassander Clare, James Patterson to name a few. I give props to anyone who is an author, aspiring to be an author because though it is fun and rewarding, but you have to have that passion! That drive to make a story that better than​ the next.
