Interview with Emlyn Hall

Published 2016-03-08.
When did you first start writing?
I started writing in 1999 but have only recently developed the level of self motivation needed to see the process through. It took me until 2015 to develop the courage to finally publish something, now i cannot stop!
What's the story behind your latest book?
I am currently writing a book about 5 friends who meet at university and agree that when they leave they will meet each other every year on the same day until one of them dies. it is called 'Forever Days' and is ultimately a comedy, but does pose some important questions and points out that in life, it is just the little that really matter.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I really enjoy writing and i hope that there are folk out there who will enjoy reading it....

It is so easy to just do it nowadays especially with platforms like Smashwords behind you.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I find the process relaxing. i have 2 little children and only write when they are in bed. i consider this time 'my time' and where better to spend it than in your own head!!

There is nothing like the glass of wine (or bottle) that you reward yourself with when you finish a novel.
Who are your favorite authors?
doug naylor
rob grant
david baddiel
dannie abse
roald dahl
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
not getting fired from my job!
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
i wrote an alternative ending to 'day of the triffids' i still love that book, but do prefer my ending, lol
What do you read for pleasure?
anything which makes me laugh
