Interview with J. R. Caldwell

When did you first start writing?
I have been writing in some form since high school.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I love to write. Back in 2003 I join a writer's group at a local community college. We had a nice small group and critiqued each other's writing exercises. The two women who conducted it were excellent. At the end of the sessions, we all wrote a possible synopsis for a novel, but I never dreamed I would attempt it. The group challenged me to take my plot and do a novel. I did and have since written four novels, and am presently writing a fifth.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
To have someone say that I gave them a little bit of enjoyment with my stories.
What do your fans mean to you?
A great sense of affirmation.
What is the Story behind your latestes book, Amends?
Two things happened with this book. I challenged myself to write from the first person perspective in the style of Jodie Pircoult, and I also named the chapters after the main characters as she has done. This one two about two years as I stepped awasy from it for awhile and came back fresh the beginning of 2016.
