What is your e-reading device of choice?
The Kindle is great, and i can also use my phone to read kindle books.
What do you read for pleasure?
I like Dean Koontz. He really knows how to hold his readers' attention and build suspense.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
To be honest, just sharing with friends and family on social media, and allowing their word of mouth to spread.
Describe your desk
Somewhat cluttered, but i know where everything is.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in a rural part of Missouri, on a small farm. I had a lot of free time to read books and comics.
When did you first start writing?
When i was in middle school. One of our school projects was to write a short story. I found it fun.
What's the story behind your latest book?
I wanted to follow a young man through some of the most stressful situations i could think of, and see how he would handle them.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I had a story i wanted to share with the world.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
They have allowed me to be in control of my artistic work.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Getting lost in my own imagination and forgetting real world for a bit.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I play paintball competitively and enjoy the camaraderie, teamwork and adrenaline rush it gives me.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
To be honest, when i was a young boy, I had a vivid imagination. There were too many stories to pinpoint the first.
What is your writing process?
I basically brainstorm, typically when lying in bed at night trying to fall asleep. The next day usually proves fruitful. I jot down what thoughts and images I see in my mind, and eventually find a spot in the story for them to fit.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
That is a hard question. It would be easier to list my 5 favorite authors. Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz would have to be my #1 favorite book.
