Interview with Pushpa Kurup

Published 2014-05-15.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Work, work, work! Sometimes travel to distant lands.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
In Chennai, Tamilnadu, India. There I learnt much of what I know. I picked my language skills at my alma mater, the Good Shepherd Convent School. I guess i was a bit of a bookworm during my school and college years. Once I got into the rat-race there wasn't any time to read, write or even think.
What's the story behind your latest book?
A monarch butterfly talks about its great migration. A one horned rhinoceros expresses its apprehensions about its future. A royal Bengal tiger tells us why it would like to be an man-eater. A dozen stories told by a dozen animals.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
My belief that the internet is the best medium.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Made it so easy! The BEST is yet to come.
What do your fans mean to you?
A lot.
When can we expect your next book?
'Causing a Flutter & Other Tales' a collection of short stories was released on May 13, 2014 by her Excellency Ms.Sheila Dikshit, Governor of Kerala at the Raj Bhavan, Trivandrum. Two more books are in the offing.
