Interview with Julie Affleck

When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I am doing laundry, dishes, or feeding my kids. And then I'll read!
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I do remember! It was over twenty years ago,called Out of Body and it was horribly written. But it was completed, so I'll give myself credit for that.
What is your writing process?
I think and take notes about the idea, then do a rough outline, and then a more detailed chapter outline, and then I write. New things pop up while I write, but I follow the general outline so I know where I'm going.
What do you read for pleasure?
I read paranormal, thriller, mystery and horror. Favourite authors are Patti Larsen, Nora Roberts, and Dean Koontz.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
My favourite is Kobo - but I've never used any other, so I really can't compare.ut I love my Kobo!
What are you working on next?
I am working on a three book series for adults (I think!) about a woman who leaves the comfort of her world to search for her husband, who may not be alive, in a world full of danger and death.
Describe your desk
My desk was a gift from my husband. It's a dark mahogany, curved with shelves, and it is absolutely beautiful - when you can see it under my mess of papers. But they're my ideas and notes and I don't want to lose them! No, really no, that was NOT a whine!
