Interview with Patricia Manly

Published 2014-04-05.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Besides work, I spend most of my time researching holistic medicine and how to heal the body. When I'm not researching, I love to be anywhere with nature, especially the beach with family and friends.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
This is actually my first book. I'm still in awe, because I never even thought of writing a book until I started journaling in 2007 when my dad developed Alzheimer's. I'm now writing three more books called "Non Existent", "Panic Chains" and Sisterhood of The Traveling Hormones" which will be out sometime this year.
When did you start writing?
I first started writing in 2007 when my dad developed Alzheimer's. I started writing because it was not only therapeutic but I didn't want to forget the many precious moments we had together and also to give other's hope who are experiencing the same life changing event as I did.
What are you working on next?
I'm working on my second book called "Non Existent". It is about my own personal journey that started in 2009. For 7 months straight I suffered with horrific symptoms that brought me to my knees and took all hope out of me. What I went through, many are going through now. I wrote this book for the ones who have lost all hope.
Who are your favorite authors?
My favorite authors are Dean Koontz, Arthur Golden, Rebecca Wells, Nicholas Sparks and many more.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My mom.
When did you first start writing?
In 2007 when my dad developed Alzheimer's .

If you were visited by a "man" from the other side warning you to change your ways, would you deny him? That is exactly what my dad, ex-power lifter George Manly faced for three nights in a row and the decision he made changed his life forever.
