Interview with Vincent Morrone

Published 2016-06-14.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I use my kindle or the kindle app on my phone or ipad.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Brooklyn, NY. (Yo.) I grew up in the Midwood area, went to Midwood high school (Where I met Emanuel Lewis & Wentworth Miller before he was famous!) I rode the subways, buses and most importantly, ate the pizza. I miss the pizza.

A lot of my characters have a NY sort of attitude. I moved upstate in the late 90's, and my Vision series revolves around someone who came from NYC and moved to upstate NY.
When did you first start writing?
I've been writing in some form or another since I was in grade school. I made my first 'attempt' at a novel when I was around ten on an old typewriter. It was about the Earth decades after being conquered by aliens. Humans were enslaved and most had devices implanted that meant that they had no emotions, but a group of teens were immune to the effects. They were on the run. I had no idea where they were going, or what they were doing, but hey, I was ten.

I also had it in my head to do comic books for a long time. Then in high school, I was going to be the next Stephen King.

I let myself get away from it for awhile, but got back to it.
What's the story behind your latest book?
A man will face his worst fear: going home

Nine years ago, Drew Duncan was arrested and charged with murder when his high school girlfriend disappeared. After being held for months for a trial that never came, he was released and left town, leaving his two sisters behind. When one sister is murdered, Drew is determined to protect her young son and find her killer. He's faced with a surviving sister who refuses to forgive him for leaving, a nephew who trembles when he enters the room and an entire town who thinks he got away with murder.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I love hearing from people who have read my work. It always gives me a thrill to see a new review and a few times they've even sent me a message!
What are you working on next?
As of this writing, I'm working on the sequels to the 1st Torn book and the 4th book in the Vision series. Plus I've got a cool novella coming out in September called The Red Strokes.

I've got about 4 other novel ideas at the ready. I absolutely will write a zombie book!
