Interview with Angie Anomalous

Published 2014-11-04.
What do you read for pleasure?
I'm a huge sucker for all things Young Adult. Whether it be romance, paranormal or fantasy. I can't get enough!
What's the story behind your latest book?
My latest book is the third book in my upcoming series, The Hallowed Chronicles. It follows Raphael through his internal and external wars while he tries to find his brother and the other Archangels. I'm currently writing this for NaNoWriMo 2014.
What are you working on next?
After Raphael's story in The Hallowed Chronicles, comes Michael's story (and then the final book!). However, after the series is finished, I'm thinking about toning the full-blown fantasy down and relaxing with a more tranquil fantasy with its own world. I already have a name for it; Birds of Paper and Chains.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I never really liked the idea of having someone have any type of control over how my books will look, what they'll contain and how they're distributed. I prefer taking the reigns and owning my book to its fullest extent to provide what I feel is necessary for readers to enjoy, without someone breathing down my neck and telling me what I can or can't do. Full blown rebel right here!
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I currently own a Kindle Paper white. I just love the fact that I can read in the dark AND outside without having any issues with clarity.
Describe your desk
It depends on the day. My desk is there for me to write on, but I usually end up just throwing junk on it and laying in bed with my laptop instead. However, I use the corkboard just above it to organize my thoughts and ideas!
When did you first start writing?
I first started writing in middle school. It became more serious for me when my English teacher told me my assigned poem was amazing. Since then, I haven't been able to stop!
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
When I was a kid, I turned to books and stories to escape my depression and the loneliness (I never really had friends). I started writing because I wanted to provide the same way of escape and inspire others to create their own stories. I absolutely love hearing people come up to me or message me telling me that I had inspired them to do their own thing. I find joy in writing something that people will enjoy and remember in years to come.
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans mean everything to me. Without them, I wouldn't be who I am today, nor would I know that people actually enjoy my writing and WANT me to keep doing what I love. I will always hold my fans close to my heart. They have changed me and I hope I have done the same for them.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I mostly spend my time reading and playing video games when I'm not working OR writing. I'm both a book nerd and a gamer. Xbox for the win ;)
